18th century dirk with historic connections by D MacIntyre Kenmore.
Silver mounted ,leather scabbard, bog oak grips.
Decorated as follows silver pommel engraved with acorns and leaves, milled edges, leaf border beneath ,celtic knot work carving to the grip with silver studs. Shoulders silver engraved with thistles. The shoulders squared on the back side of the blade rounded on the edge side. Scabbard with decoration and knife and fork to match dirk. A quiver with arrows engraved on terminal chape back and front.
This dirk previously the property of the chief of the Clan Menzies and appears in a clan portrait at Castle Menzies Perthshire.

Leather scabbard has lost some of its original finish restorable .
